One of my interests outside of medicine and art is travel where I love to explore what makes every location I see unique.

Holly Strasser

I am a medical and scientific artist specializing in commissioned work that bridges research, education, and visual storytelling. My practice combines technical precision with fine art sensibility to translate complex subjects into compelling visual experiences.

I began my academic career at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, earning a B.S. in Animal Science with a minor in Fine Arts and a specialization in reproductive physiology. Extensive work with large livestock gave me a deep, hands-on understanding of anatomy, physiology, and biological systems beyond the human model. This foundation allows me to approach medical and scientific subjects with structural accuracy while also expanding my expertise into zoological and natural history applications. I also hold an Associate degree in General Business Management from Western Nevada College and an Associate degree in Biopsychology from Texas Tech University, strengthening both the scientific and professional dimensions of my practice.

I later completed a B.A. in Fine Arts with a focus in illustration and fine line work at University of Nevada, Reno, refining the technical and aesthetic skills that support my visual work. Most recently, I graduated with Distinction from the Master of Medical Art program at University of Dundee. There, my training spanned traditional 2D media, cadaveric dissection suites, and advanced 3D visualization and animation labs, integrating technologies such as photogrammetry and Artec scanning to produce anatomically precise and immersive visual experiences.

This blend of science, technology, and fine art informs every project I undertake, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and visual impact at any scale.

Rooted in the study of nature and anatomy, these selected works explore the intersection of biological systems, human experience, and artistic expression.
